Yu has finally taken the wraps off the Yuphoria at a launch event in Delhi today. The smartphone is priced at Rs 6,999 and will be exclusively available on Amazon India via the traditional flash sale model. The first flash sale will be conducted on May 28, the registrations for which begin today at 5PM.
As hinted in the teasers, the Yuphoria comes with stereo-like sound audio and sports a full metal design with premium build quality. As far as the specifications are concerned, the Yu Yuphoria will flaunt a 5-inch TFT IPS display with 1280×720 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM and Adreno 306 GPU.
It offers 16GB of in-built memory, and runs on Android Lollipop-based Cyanogen OS 12 out-of-the-box. It packs a 2,230mAh battery with quick charging technology that claim to charge the Yuphoria till 65 percent in just 45 minutes. On the camera front, the Yu Yuphoria sports a 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and 1080p HD video recording. , and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper with f/2.0 aperture and an 86 degree wide angle lens. Connectivity wise, it includes dual-SIM, LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It will be available in buffed steel and champagne gold variants.
At this price and spec point, the Yu Yuphoria is set to compete with the Redmi 2.
